A Brief History of Ball’s Falls Conservation Area

Ball's Falls, located in Lincoln, Ontario, holds a rich history steeped in both natural beauty and human heritage. The name "Ball's Falls" originates from the Ball family, who were prominent settlers in the 19th century. The site itself features two cascading waterfalls, the Lower and Upper Falls, which powered a sawmill and a grist mill, vital to the local community during the 19th century. The conservation area surrounding Ball's Falls showcases well-preserved historic buildings, including a lime kiln and a church, providing a window into the past. Today, Ball's Falls stands as a testament to the intersection of nature and history, drawing visitors with its scenic landscapes and a glimpse into Ontario's vibrant past.

Reception and Ceremony

Ball’s Falls features 4 unique outdoor locations if you’re looking for a lush green setting for your ceremony. One of their newest outdoor features includes a 10x10 wooden arch that blends in beautifully with the surrounding trees and adds a nice touch to any ceremony. Outdoor ceremonies can host up to 190 guests and can be rented for $956.

Another area that is available outside is their charming, historical chapel. The restored chapel is perfect if you’re looking for a rustic and romantic ceremony. The location can host up to 110 guests and can be rented for $956.

One of my personal favourite features of Ball’s Falls is the large, countryside style barn that includes high ceilings and an open-air feel. It’s perfect for either a wedding ceremony or a wedding reception. The location can host up to 190 guests and can be rented for $3,375.

Their final location, the Glen Elgin Room, is a high-style and elegant reception space that is beautiful in every season. The floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to enjoy the gorgeous scenery outside all while staying comfortable and cozy inside, even if the snowflakes are fluttering in the wind. Couples also have access to the patio for an outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, or a night of dancing under the stars. This location can host up to 150 guests and can be rented for $3,375.

Another amazing amenity Ball’s Falls offers the privacy and comfort of the bridal suite. The suite is exclusive to couples that book one of their locations and is available from 8 a.m. until the end of your special day. The room offers natural sunlight and vintage glamour, perfect for intimate photograph opportunities. It can be rented for a daily rate of $422.
